COACHES CORNER: BRAD FORBES

At Mount Lawley District Cricket Club (MLDCC), our coaching team is the driving force behind our success on the cricket field. They bring expertise, dedication, and a passion for the game that's truly inspiring.

In our "Coaches Corner" series, we're excited to introduce you to the brilliant minds moulding our cricket stars of tomorrow. Through a series of brief but insightful questions, you'll get a flavour of their cricket journeys, coaching philosophies, and the invaluable wisdom they impart to our players.

This week we have the pleasure of introducing:

Brad Forbes

2nd Grade Coach

Junior Coaching Coordinator

  1. Where did you play most of your cricket growing up? Mirrabooka Junior Cricket Club for two seasons, then one year of U16’s at Mt Lawley when I also played 3rd Grade.

  2. As a player your cricketing skill was… All Rounder of questionable ability.

  3. Three (3) people you would have to dinner? Ernest Hemingway, Diego Maradona, Anthony Bourdain

  4. How long have you been at MLDCC and what is your coaching level and role? First season at Mt Lawley was 1976, left three times - once to play football, once to get married, and once to have children!! Two were good decisions, football was the wrong choice! Currently 2nd Grade Coach and Junior Coaching Coordinator.

  5. Why do you choose to coach cricket? Great game played by good people and rewarding when others succeed.

  6. What is your coaching philosophy? Fun, Respect, Skills and Winning!

  7. Beyond team success, what is your coaching aspirations for your team this season? See as many players as possible improve and have success.

  8. What values do you believe contribute to a good team/club culture? Responsible behaviour and to stand up and perform when it matters! Anyone can do it when it’s easy.

Join us again for the next instalment of “Coaches Corner” where we continue uncovering the unique stories, experiences, and knowhow that make our coaching staff an integral part of our MLDCC cricketing family.
